About

HOUSE OF PEACE CENTRE (HOPC) is a non-profit making organization which was formed in September 2019 and registered on 24th Feb 2021. It draws its membership from men and women who are passionate about the fight against gender based violence among girls and women. HOPC recognizes the enormous challenges of violence against women and girls, which increases their vulnerability to HIV/AIDS. Nearly 1 out of 4 women have experienced physical or sexual violence in their lifetime regardless of their status in society.

It is our dream to reduce human suffering and poverty among the orphans and vulnerable women by engaging them in activities that would enhance their knowledge and that would assist them to survive in harsh environment.

The main inspiration of forming this organization was as a result of increasing cases of HIV/AIDS amongst our young girls and women, which has seen a number of orphans, early teen marriages, sexual harassment, drug and alcohol abuse on the increase.
